Skyrim patch: Resistance breaking bug found, some PS3 users still have lag

Wednesday, 30th November 2011 15:07 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

It looks as though some players are still experiencing some lag issues in Skyrim on PS3, even after applying the patch released on Monday. Furthermore, both PS3 and Xbox 360 users are reporting the patch came with a new bug, which causes players to take full damage from hits despite any applied resistances.

PS3 lag fixed for some

According to a report on CVG, when the patch was initially installed, it seemed to offer a “vast improvement” to the stuttering issues caused by large save filed on PS3′s HDD; however, after a few more hours of playing, especially when entering highly populated NPC areas, the stuttering returned.

While some players aren’t experiencing any issues at all, it seems as though folks with older PS3 models with “rammed” HDDs are more prone to lag issues.

Below, you will find a patch comparison video, whereas you can make a judgement call for yourself.

Dragons flying backwards

Both PS3 and Xbox 360 users are reporting that after applying the patch, a bug included in it has broken any resistance players have to spells, poisons, disease, or any other harmful effects NPCs and monsters can apply to them. Players have found that despite having a resistance buff, they will take full damage no matter what perk they have applied at the time.

Another bug noticed since the patch, is that dragons now seem to be flying backwards. No word on whether this was caused by having too many pints of ale at The Bannered Mare or not.

Eurogamer notes that you can refused the Skyrim patch and continue to play as normal, unless you want to play it online, then it is mandatory. Since it is not a multiplayer game, staying offline seems to be advisable for the time being.

The Skyrim patch for Xbox 360 and PC released today.

And this is an issue with having the same system but they are tiered (Xbox) or they use completely different parts. Developers are then really crippled by the lowest common denominator within each system so then they have to develop in a very broad way.

HAHAHAHHAHA, typical console trash is typical. PC will always excel in this area because of the master race being able to fix the problems the devs are too lazy to act on

    PC> Console peasants.
