Activision corrects simultaneous MW3 launch player count to 1.4 million
Activision’s put out a notice correcting its initial figure of 3.3 million simultaneous users on multiplayer for launch day of Modern Warfare 3. The number now, according to the publisher, 1.4 million users. Acti reported last week 3.3 million users logged onto Xbox Live day one to play the shooter.

To be fair, it’s not like they got the calculation wrong, they just confused ‘daily players’ with ‘simultaneous daily players’.
Not really worth whining about is it?

3.3 million will have worked its way into the popular mythology of Modern Warfare by word of mouth by now. I doubt the 1.4 million correction will make the same rounds.

I don’t think most people care whether the amount was simultaneous or not, tbh…
