The Darkness II demos “quad wield” combat

Games which let you hold a weapon in each hand are clearly superior to others, but what about a game which gives you four…?

Darkness protagonist Jackie can manifest tentacles of living shadow, and naturally, when his hands are full of boom sticks, its these nasty little creatures he sends in to get the job done. The job is generally killing people in creative and interesting ways.

The Darkness II releases for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in February 2012, with a Wii U version planned.

A little bit too colourful and bright for a game calling itself “The Darkness”.

^ Ahaha good point. I thought darker and more realistic was the natural way to progress after the first one. Aww well.

So a game based on a comic book, shouldn’t try to recreate the artistic style or colour of said comic book?

Oh and just how realistic do you want a game about a mafia hitman, in control of a demonic force, that allows him to sprout demon tentacles and manifest evil minions to be exactly o_O

@5: Did you play the first one? The high contrast and deep shadows was part of its charm. I’m a fan of the original comic book series, but i don’t really like the new style. Deeper shadows and higher contrast would help it. I also think the style doesn’t really represent a comic book.
