343 Industries has announced Breakneck, a remake of the classic Halo 2 map Headlong, will be included in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

Announced during the Tokyo Game Show, Breakneck takes you back to Headlong, a “skyscraper-hemmed construction site” with numerous vantage points and large central basin for vehicle combat for eight to 16 players.

Additionally at TGS, 343 Industries debuted and demoed the first Halo campaign level, Pillar of Autumn in its remastered form. It contains remastered audio and a more detailed introduction to game universe.

343 also revealed new details around the title update for Halo: Reach, which will include the Halo: Combat Evolved Magnum pistol and classic playlists. It also includes multiplayer fixes, balancing armour abilities as well as Armour Lock and Active Camo.

A beta playlist for the Reach update will go live on October 4 and will be open to all Reach players holding a Gold XBL membership.

Halo: CE Anniversary releases on November 15.

    Side note…

I forgot, is Halo:CE Anniversary 720p or 1080p? I would think the latter since it’s a last gen game, but not sure with the fancy new graphics engine.

You mean you would think it was the former, the latter in that sentence being 1080p…

Seriously though, where is Sidewinder at? Maybe they will make it DLC if its not with the initial offering of re-made maps but that was one of the best if not the best map in Halo:CE IMO…used to play on that and Blood Gulch for hours on end with four player split screen multi back then…good times

Actually, no I meant it exactly as written.

I would think it’d be the latter (1080p) cause it’s a last gen game running on this gen engine should be able to hit 1080p no prob. Ala God of War Collection, all the other HD collections, etc.

    Here’s hoping.
