World of Tanks surpasses 5 million registered players
Wargaming.net has announced its World of Tanks MMO has surpassed 5 million registered players.

The free-to-play WWII MMO is about to celebrate its first birthday, and the firm, obviously, couldn’t be more pleased.
“We didn’t expect World of Tanks would become this popular,” said CEO Victor Kislyi. “The game’s success has given us [the] confidence we needed to continue our expansion into the world of online wargames.”
During its first year online, the gate set many a peak concurrent user record and eventually set a Guiness World Record for having 91,311 simultaneous player connections.
The game went live in the US and Europe earlier this year.
Thanks, Massively.

Fantastic game. I love it.
can’t wait for their next project: World of Planes or whatever
and they must seriously fix the balance, because after 2 tiers, American tanks are useless piece of crap that no one afraid (no one needs a speed, besides… soviet T-34 or tier 2 A-20still kicks their ass). German tanks are ok (kick ass defence), but Soviet Tanks like T-34 or IS 1-4 are just kicks everyone’s ass.
I understand that soviet tanks in it’s era were the best, but they seriously need to balance it for the sake of the game because after Tier-3 you don’t need to upgrade your tanks at all…

Just registered for it last night. The latest update with free two player platoons is probably what drove me to download it.
