Warhammer 40K: Space Marine co-op may be patched in post-launch

A hastily-removed forum posts suggests Warhammer 40K: Space Marine's co-op multiplayer will be available post-launch via DLC.

Shack reports a THQ community manager revealed the mode on the game's official forums, but the post has since been deleted.

The representative reportedly said the co-op mode would be patched into Space Marine around 30 days after launch, apparently delayed by a need for polish.

The post also seemed to suggest that the co-op patch will be free to those with a brand new copy of the game, but will be paid DLC for the second-hand market, alá Online Pass systems.

THQ has issued a statement confirming the game will include co-op and promised more details this month, although it did not comment on when the mode will be available.

Space Marine is due in early Septmeber on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
