Report – Peace Walker PS3 to be announced at E3

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is set to make the jump to PS3 via the recently-announced PSP Remaster series, JVN is reporting this morning.

Once more, the PS3 SKU will be announced at E3 in two weeks time, according to the French site.

No more details were given, but it’s expected that it will have some of the features that titles from the PSP Remaster collection will get with a PS3 version, including DualShock support and cross-platform save files.

Only one title has been confirmed so far for the collection – Monster Hunter Portable 3rd – but Peace Walker HD is very much a likely favorite among fans to be an upcoming remaster.

Konami has also surveyed the possibility of Peace Walker HD before, it should be worth noting.

MGS: Peace Walker originally launched for PSP last summer.

On a different note, Konami needs to jump on board with this whole PS2 Classics thing and announce MGS and Silent Hill HD Collections. E3 is the perfect time to do it, so do it Konami!

Hope they do a bundle with both Peace Walker & Portable ops & upgrade both to MGS4-like visuals, MGS4 still remains a pretty impressive looking game.

Piracy really did kill the PSP, the lack of a second stick & triggers may have helped but it’s the lack of consumer support (a huge demographic of gamers are pirates) that killed developer support which killed legit consumers’ support.
