Square Enix announces Hitman Absolution with teaser

Square Enix just announced and released the first teaser trailer for Hitman Absolution. Watch it below.

The clip is literally a tease, showing Agent 47 applying a suppressor as well as a snake wrapped around a gun. The latest chapter in the Hitman series has been teased since last year, with IO saying last week that it had “incoming shrapnel,” for this week. This was it, obviously.

According to Square, Agent 47 will be taking on his “most dangerous contract to date.”

Betrayed by those he once trusted, he is sought by the police, and has been thrust into the center of a conspiracy where me must embark on a “personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world.”

“For the first time we are taking Agent 47 on a personal journey which allows us to explore other parts of the Hitman fantasy,” said Tore Blystad, game director at IO Interactive. “This is both a familiar and yet significantly different experience from other Hitman games; something our silent assassins will relish, as will all those new to the Hitman world.”

Hitman Absolution was built using IO’s new proprietary Glacier 2 technology, and is scheduled for release in 2012 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Square will be showing the title at E3 next month, via an invitation only screening.

Hell motherfucking yeah!!! Ok so it doesn’t show much…but a new Hitman is coming. Sure sure…we all knew it was coming but now it’s confirmed! Now please IO…do NOT mess it up. Don’t make it too casual, don’t change too much,just make it awesome.

They must keep the multiple ways to eliminate your targets. David Bateson should be 47′s voice again. The story should be dark and grimey and all that. Good physics this time around, the ability to put on any clothing you see. Don’t make it too casual, keep it challenging.

People were afraid when Crystal Dynamics moved to Square-Enix that Tomb Raider would be ruined, but it’s actually turning out to be a very promising game. I hope the same happens for IO with Hitman. I’m glad they have given K&L a break and finally started with Hitman.

Dude, seriously… I won’t be buying this until I have my HITMAN: BLOOD MONEY FOR PS3!! Best Hitman game ever and maybe one of the best games ever (which one of the best plots/endings ever) is running 640×480 on PS2 with pixelated textures, holes here and there, even on Hitman’s face while PC and XBOX 360 enjoy the full awesome imaginery of the game.

Hey, let’s take a look at the barcode. Two numbers are highlighted: One is the 47, which refers to the protagonist, but the other one, 110706, isn’t it the release date? 2011. 07. 06. maybe?

@10 Probably not the release date, that date is only like two months away. But maybe the date of something else, gameplay trailer perhaps.

Nah, they are no doubt gonna show it at E3. But the date is mixed up, it’s never the year, day, month. I guess they did that on purpose.

The last time I checked the best game in the series Silent Assassin was very personal story. As Moonwalker said, are there people left who worked on the original games, or they thing we have only played Blood Money?!
