PSP tops hardware despite lack of new software

Sony’s PSP continued to dominate the Japanese hardward charts, despite the fact there weren’t any game debuts for the system in the top 10. Continued sales of Monster Hunter Freedom 3 and Radiant Mythology 3 were likely the contributing factors to the 63,330 units moved. PS3 moved 25, 242 units for the week, which is down 1,524 units over last week. PSPgo moved 2,487 units, and PS2 moved another 1,863.

The public also seems to be gearing up for the release of 3DS on February 26, as Nintendo’s handheld division moved a combined 19,032 units while Wii moved 12,221 units.

Xbox 360 moved 2,183 units for the week, which is up 65 units over last week’s 2,118 units. For comparisson, during the same period last year, Xbox 360 moved 2,453 units meaning console sales for Microsoft continue to be a bit flat over in Japan.

maybe this is wishful thinking but we all know how crap the 360 has done in japan, so that would make it a ‘fair’ assumption that it was made on that console as they knew it would head westward

I’m glad Atlus are doing well now, they’re on the best terms they have ever been at the moment. Can’t wait for Persona 5.
