The open multiplayer beta is live over in Europe and the US.

Oh big f***ing surprise with IGN’s Xbot bias score.

    #2 4 years ago
  3. Wesker

What the hell are you talking about #3 ? 8.5 is an awesome score -.-

When did people start to think that a game with 7 points/70 percent is a bad game through and through?

    #3 4 years ago
  4. Erthazus

So they actually… Didn’t even improved the series.

    Haha… thats hillarious.

Next i want to see Killzone 3 sales because Killezone 2 sales were 2 million AT BEST. Oh sony, sony… What are we going to do :(

    #4 4 years ago
  5. DGOJG

I understand its still a great score but I’m just saying they would never score it a 9. I’m also so disapointed in Killzone with its story. When you read the backstory online its so fantastic and yet they never show any of it in the game or put it in a greater context.

I remember Kotaku review where they showed a jungle…

I’m sorry if someone say here again that Killzone have amazing graphics, i suggest for that guy to go to the ophthalmologist and to check his eyes because i never seen such an awful level design for jugnels.

Even Far Cry 1 have better jungles (Xbox 1 era), i won’t say about Far Cry 2 or especially Crysis 1.

    #8 4 years ago
  9. ReeceHeywood

BTW GameTrailers scored it a 9.4.

And it’ll poo all over tired old Crysis!! Trololol :)
Joking aside, these are solid scores for a solid game. I prefer a game to get 8-9′s. Perfect 10′s are mostly journo’s buying into hype.

    #16 4 years ago
  17. Erthazus

@15, i don’t hate it and never hated Killzone.
I like it’s multiplayer. Liked the multiplayer in the second game and it’s probably going to be good in the third game.

“dude you can’t compare an Earth jungle to an alien jungle ”

I can compare a level design. Everything looks like last generation or not well crafted.

Bugs and nature in the Jungle looks just as bad, you can see for yourself.

i sold my ps3 years ago. no good exclusive games. other than god of war 3 and mgs. they got nothing little bug planet is good, not my type of game. and im sorry killzone 3 wont touch halo reach or any call of duty game. and o wait GEARS 3 is gonna fuck sony in the ass so, im happy i kept my xbox cuz there 1st party support rocks, xbox live runs circles around psn. hey sony instead of pushing 3D (which only 7$ of usa households have as of 2-1-11) work on ur internet service or work on making good games. xbox 4life

    #20 4 years ago
  21. Erthazus

“killzone 3 wont touch halo reach”

Thats true. It won’t touch Halo:Reach… No fps game this generation will touch that piece of shit, because it smells with last generation from miles.

    #21 4 years ago
  22. Gekidami

By the looks of it reviews arent even saying the SP is bad, but mainly just the story. Makes you wonder why reviewers suddenly changed their standards, afterall; They’ll actively ignore a poor story in other FPS’ on the basis that “its not what people buy the game for”.

    #22 4 years ago
  23. MushroomStamp

Pretty sure it’s more of same. I beat the first one, tried to force myself but just couldn’t finish the 2nd one, and totally ignoring the 3rd. I honestly believe the only reason KZ gets so much press is because it’s the only exclusive FPS on the PS3 that has a shot of being good. I personally felt the guns and shooting mechanics in KZ series are complete garbage. The story is better than the gameplay.

    #23 4 years ago
  24. daytripper

oh for fuck sake, people playing the victim, xbot websites and all this shit. honestly, i cant stand some of you playstation fanboys, your attitudes stink to say the least, i thought the 360 asslickers were tits. if YOU really like the game then you will buy it and shouldnt give a shit, its as if a 8.5 is a bad score, its a great score. i enjoyed the beta today and will purchase, i dont give a shit about reviews much.

This is ridiculous.half an hour ago I said I would buy this game day one but now I am not going to buy it.not at all
Guys at guerrilla are surely the dumbest developers out there.Rather than improving the franchise…They made it worse.Damn you Sony, you never learn…
PS:As a Sony fanboy I confess that Halo:Reach is the best shooter out there,

    #26 4 years ago
  27. spiderLAW

Im still buying this day 1.
If COD Black Ops can get 9s and MW2 can get 9.5s and WAW can get 9s+ while KZ3 gets 8s+ then there has got to be something wrong with the reviewers. O well.
Im not concerned over the reviews being 8+ anyways. anything 7 and above is good and i wont enjoy KZ3 any less either.

Too many people are concerned with other peoples opinions about the games they like. If you like it, play it. If you dont, dont. If others dont like it, they wont play it but it shouldnt stop you from enjoying yourself. PEACE bitches!!

P.S. Fuck all yall KZ haters. Go back to your shit ass xbox and play the Gears series that simply repeats itself while you praise it for being “THE GREATEST EVAR!!!” but criticize KZ for being subject to the same idea.
Gears fanbitches. Halo fanbitches = all the same lol

PSS I like gears and halo lol

    #27 4 years ago
  28. Frank17

killzone 3 sucks! sony has no good FPS. halo is on top and always will b. when the story of a game is better than the actual game u got problems. ill just wait for gears 3, the story 2 gears might b a little goofy. but i rather play a game that plays good and has a shitty story, than a game like the killzone series who actually have a good story, but the gameplay sucks and everything else about it. sorry ps3 fan boys, happy i made a profit selling my ps3. ill keep my xbox and kinetic for now. i dont need a ps3 and a HD WII, i mean playstation move LOL

    #28 4 years ago
  29. Erthazus

I’m interested to see if Killzone 3 can outsell Killzone 2. If not, then holy…

I’m not sure that after Killzone 3 reviews Guerilla will continue on the Killzone franchise this generation (maybe next time), they need to create new IP.

    #29 4 years ago
  30. get2sammyb

@26 – Why? Because its Metacritic is 88 instead of 92?

I’ve just spent 30 minutes on the multiplayer beta and that side of the game is clearly leaps and bounds better than Killzone 2 (in my opinion).

I think shooter fatigue is factoring into some of these slightly more sceptical reviews. Clearly it’s absolutely fantastic though. Most scores are 8.5 or higher, and the text only really tends to dismiss the plot line.

    #30 4 years ago

  37. lexph3re

Lol I can tell some of these guys didn’t read the reviews. Each review I’ve read said gameplay has drastically improved from kz2 as well as graphics. And what they failed at was the what? CHARACTERS! You guys are anal yeah double that up, but seriously a lot of you sound like you want to justify why you won’t get this game and why you love you xbox.

I just put a forum of xbox heads in their place for the bullshit lies they spread as facts. And its sad to come to a review of a ps3 game to see that a lot of you just can’t read. Hell I know destructoid gave this game a 10 just because of the fresh air it breathes outside of the cod and halo hype. Also @ frank17 I hope you sold that ps3 for more then what you paid for it and the games you had for it because you honestly probably made 0.

But, I don’t know your situation you mightve had a family member buy it for you.

  40. Crysis

Seems that many reviewers judge a game by the4 hype it’s getting.
But even still, how the fuck is 88/100 a bad overall score? What planet are some of you morons from? & It was incredibly obvious that the SP would be a letdown, it was in every CoD, it was in Halo: Reach, it was In every Gears, think of it this way, how many shooters actually had a good SP this gen? I actually did enjoy Resistance 2′s to be honest.

    @Crysis, it’s just a meme :)

@42, no one here is saying that it is a bad game, it’s not a bad game. It’s good, just less improved for what people wanted most of all considering Guerilla said a lot of times in the interview: We improved the story, the campaign…

and it was not the biggest thing, but they improved multiplayer. thats just not enough. for some multiplayer maniacs or Killzone fans it’s maybe everything.

I’ve had a chance to play Crysis 2 and Killzone 3 now, and in my opinion, Crysis 2 is the winner for me. I prefer the controls and the gameplay is actually really fun. Can’t wait to try the PC demo when it finally hits.

@#8: Who gives a shit about Jungles? Jungle-Level are the reason why so many people didn’t give a shit about Far Cry 1 and Crysis.

    #51 4 years ago
  52. Erthazus

@51, it’s oppsite. You are new to gaming right?
Far Cry 1 was a mega hit for Crytek by awards and commercially successfull thats why they are big right now and even Ubisoft wanted to buy that franchise from Crytek.

Crysis? A matter of taste, but jungles really started to annoy some gamers.
and still Crysis 1 is commercially and sold well on PC.

    So you are wrong again.

  54. tearjerker

@44 Amen to that, I’m on this site a lot although I rarely comment, but some of the stuff people regularly say is just so ridiculous. “I’ve a PS3 so the 360 is shit” “Oh well actually I’ve a 360 so the PS3 is shit”. Do people really believe this stuff? I’d be very surprised if somebody genuinely thought either a 360 or a PS3 is shit and I don’t understand what the commenters gain by saying it. . . anyway enough of my troll related anger, KZ3 looks like a day one purchase for me :)

    #54 4 years ago
  55. YoungZer0

@52: Yeah, i maybe wrong once, but you’re just fucking stupid. And that more than once. Nobody played FarCry because of the Jungle, neither was that the reason why people liked Crysis.

You start by saying that Killzone 3 looks awful because the level design is not so good? From the 3 min. footage you saw? How can so much shit fit into one head?

Have you ever made sense in your life? Just fucking once? No, but you still continue with your annoying presence.

“I’m not sure that after Killzone 3 reviews Guerilla will continue on the Killzone franchise this generation (maybe next time), they need to create new IP.”

Since when is a score between 8-10 bad, you mental patient?

“@42, no one here is saying that it is a bad game, it’s not a bad game. It’s good, just less improved for what people wanted most of all considering Guerilla said a lot of times in the interview: We improved the story, the campaign…”

Which is exactly what they did. They improved the campaign. Every fucking review mentions this. How can you complain about that if you haven’t even played the game?

Seriously stop your little dickgirl shit and get a fucking life for once. All you do is troll around in these forums and this for at least a year, you pathetic, helpless sack of shit.

“Nobody played FarCry because of the Jungle”

So no one is going to play Killzone because there is Jungle? You fail at logic.

“You start by saying that Killzone 3 looks awful because the level design is not so good? From the 3 min. footage you saw?”

    Pfff, why so serious?
I can show you other screenshots or beta is enough for the judgment. I saw it, it looks OK at best in my opinion. Got it? :)

“Since when is a score between 8-10 bad, you mental patient?”

Where i said that 8-10 is bad or Killzone is a bad game? Failed at logic again?

You fail at logic so many times here AGAIN, as always.

Dont you get get tired of failing?

Read the reviews, they’re unanimous; Killzone 3 is one of/the best looking shooter/s out. Stop feeling jealous in Call of Duty: Crysis 2′s name. After the 360 demo its quite clear that its not even in the same ballpark.

Wow, that’s so surprising that s PS magazine gave a PS3 exclusive game 10/10..

  62. Erthazus

“Killzone 3 is one of/the best looking shooter/s out. ”

Bwcause Sony said so to them? I have my eyes and multplatform games out there on consoles a lot of them look much better already then Killzone 3.

If you are blind and believe the scores and magazines it’s your damn problem, also,

“Stop feeling jealous in Call of Duty: Crysis 2′s name.”

I don’t get it. For what? What have Call Of duty to do with Crysis 2? Failing at logic?

“Dont you get get tired of failing?”

you need to ask this yourself Sonytard and Call Of duty fanboy. It’s your problem if every shooter is Call Of duty for you.
OMG, REGENERATION is so ODD!111 or… grenade in your hand is so odd.. DERP.

If you started playing FPS games this generation it’s your fucking problem, sir.

People if you start argue about graphics have a fucking sreenshot with yourself. All i see how people say: Critics say that it is amazing.

You’re fanboy blinkers wont allow you to admit how good the game looks no matter the screenshot. Its call ‘denial’ bro. Brought on by fanboyism.

    #65 4 years ago
  66. Erthazus

    @65, fanboy of what… i’m sorry?

Crysis 1,2, Gears Of war 3, RAGE, Bulletstorm looks better then Killzone 2-3, i’m wrong?

If i’m wrong than it is you who is in “denial”. – official screenshot found on google of Killzone 2. Amazing graphics with low poly fingers, models and environemtn. So who is in denial? =\

^ so thats your argument? Good luck then. Have a good time with opthamologist. He maybe can help your eyes somehow, because i still can’t figure out how devs use 2d explosions, not so well crafted grass, rocks with low poly boxes:

the ony thing that was good when i played Killzone 2 was just a lightning, wow… Metro 2033 blowed it away even on 360.

    #68 4 years ago
  69. Gekidami

^ Theres nothing to argue about. Like i said: The reviews are unanimous.

  70. spiderLAW

Okay, so you are picking random screens from multiplayer….. If my internet at work wasnt so fucking lame (blocks everything except this site and i would be posting shots that shit on the games you mentioned. Every game in existence has weak points in technical and graphics terms. It just depends on how the developer chooses to blend them in to make them unnoticeable

You usually have decent taste in games, i’ll give you that, but you Crysis love affair goes a little too far.

    #70 4 years ago
  71. spiderLAW

    @ Erth
Also, Metro 2033 looked really good on PC. 360 it looked like shit.
And even on PC, Killzone 3 competes with it.

    Hey Erthazus,

You wanna talk about failing at logic? Everyone on this site can back me up in saying all of your posts ever relating to Killzone 2 or 3 are always talking shit about it and putting downs it’s shitty graphics and game design.

Yet earlier, in this very thread, when i addressed the very topic of you hating the killzone series you said:

    Erthazus said:
    03/02/11, 6:30 pm
@15, i don’t hate it and never hated Killzone.

Dude, you’re seriously mental, you do no that right?

  76. M2Kx

    @74: If there’s one, I’d already own it :)

    #76 4 years ago
  77. Erthazus

@Dr.Ghettoblaster, “Dude, you’re seriously mental, you do no that right?

It’s you, who is mental here because i don’t hate Killzone.

If graphics are not good enough then it’s obviously a bad game, right? It’s not a bad game, but it does not look very good in my opinion… Some fanboys say that it is SUPER amazing (critics also say that), just because it is BIAS and stupid Sony’s PR marketing thing as always. They need to say to people that “This Game” is graphically benchmark, every journo shits all over the place.

Stop being fanboys and open your eyes. There is nothing special in it. I like Killzone 2 multiplayer, hated singleplayer. Art direction was good too, story sucks, but story in the main Killzone site is good.

@spiderLAW, “360 it looked like shit.”

On 360 METRO looked ok for the console. I didn’t said it looked better than killzone i said that lightning effects there are much better.

“Okay, so you are picking random screens from multiplayer….. ”

Last one is from campaign. I seriously can’t figure out what is so good in Killzone visuals.

sometimes i can’t even describe what i see on the picture. Blocky characters, blocky fingers and shitty rocks with low res grass.

God Of war 3 or Uncharted 2-3 as the Sony’s first party shits all over Killzone visuals or any other CONSOLE multiplat AAA FPS TPS title in my opinion.

@Crysis, i really can’t agree with that. I don’t know what people find so beautiful in it.
Maybe animations, maybe lightning, but everything else come on…

compare god Of war 3 to this… or RAGE (console) to this and there will be a difference… Even Halo:Reach models to the Killzone models…

Ah fk it, uve pissed me off. Seriously ERTHA, if u didn’t feel immersed/enjoyed kz2, u are the biggest idiot/ piece of crap to grace this earth. Same goes for everyone else. Stop comparing the graphics of kz3 to other shooters, like crysis 2! KZ3 is said by a few to the the best looking shooter/console game all around. I don’t care about photo realism, immersion and art style is more important! which is where crysis 1 and 2 will fail. By the way ive already seen foto realism in killzone 3, compare the snow levels of crysis1/kz3 gameplay footage. Anyone can take bad looking images of games. I can find some crysis shots showing weird textures and foliage from certain areas of the game! Oh and bulletstorm looking better than kz3?? So i played the beta for 5hrs last night. Fucking amazing. So much fun.
I havent played a beta for that long before….and actually i wouldnt play any multiplayer game on the same map for longer than an hour so thats saying something.
I was head shotting peeps left and right.
The controls are so much improved. Everything still feels weighty but is way more responsive so it feels great. Definitely a big improvement over KZ2. Graphics are great and this is just a BETA.

So i took my Non-gaming friend girl and my gaming girl friend and did a comparison at seperate times.
I found the best looking frame i could find in Halo Reach and just selected a random frame in Killzone3.
I switched back and forth between the 2 on the same TV and asked which they thought looked better.
The girl who wasnt a gamer said “The one with the weird looking guys with RED eyes and gas mask looking thing looks way better”
Then i asked my gaming girlfriend (who happens to be a big Halo fan, loves Master Chief and Cortana) which one she thought looked better. “Killzone 3….Fuck you man hahaha”

    Good story

Actually…………..yes :) Want to hear the details of that one (my girl is bi…most women are)? LOL
I got pics to prove as well….we filmed it, then i went back to playing KZ3.

I agree with the robotic thing…but Halo still is fun…just nothing special about it tho.

    #114 4 years ago
  115. Crysis

Yeah, I used to like Halo, but I got sick of Reach around the time when they introduced their 1st map pack, harassing me every time i start the game to get the new dlc ;\
I played the new maps & they were crap, The next Halo game I’ll ever purchase would be when I get the Xbox’s successor but if Sony releases the PS4 within a 6 month radius of the Xbox ’720′, I’ll hold out for Sony’s console.

    #115 4 years ago
  116. spiderLAW

I stopped playing Reach about 3weeks after owning it. I pick it up still now and then though.

Same here…i’m getting older, busier, my family is getting bigger making my responsibilities bigger…can only get one console next time around and it will be PS4 (although i didnt like PS2 and im in no way a Sony fan, I don’t own anything sony except PS3 and eventually NGP) i just really love my PS3 enough to say that PS4 would be my best option.

    #116 4 years ago
  117. Isaaclarke37

I just saw the review for the game on and i enjoyed the review and i think that Metacritic should have given the game more for more than one reason but just simply one of them is that enemies don’t absorb alot of bullets and second is that controls feels much better this time.
