Bethesda confirms Skyrim toolset release

skyrim

Although there was little doubt that the mod-friendly developer would do otherwise, Bethesda has confirmed the planned release of a toolkit for Skyrim’s engine, Creation.

Writing on the Bethesda forums, a community manager confirmed that a previously announced Creation “kit” is a toolset similar to those released for Morrowind and Oblivion.

“We’ve always been impressed with what the community has done with our tools. Like the Elder Scrolls Construction Set for Morrowind and Oblivion, we plan to release Creation Kit so you guys can mod Skyrim.”

The Creation engine is home to a swag of new features including randomised quest systems and thoroughly overhauled character animation.

Thanks, Joystiq.

I am very happy. I love the mods on Oblivion, So I will get the PC version again for the next Elder Scrolls game.

You have to give Bathesda credit for supporting their fans with modding. Now if only they would release a polished product, instead of the fans fixing the game for them with their mods.

@2 Hahaha, so true.

Definitely going to be writing some shaders for this, although I imagine it will ship with quite a few good ones.
