Halo’s secret is “something for everyone”

Frank O’Connor, Microsoft’s franchise development director, has said the secret of Halo’s critical and commercial success is “that is has something for everyone.”

Speaking to Xbox 360 Magazine, O’Connor listed Halo’s many and varied virtues, beginning with “a deep, rewarding sandbox of engaging vehicles, cool weapons and challenging AI.

“A sci-fi adventure for fiction fans. A sense of mystery and wonder for folks who like that sort of thing. User Creation tools for would-be game designers, and of course, competitive, exciting multiplayer.”

Right. Now that everyone’s up to speed, we expect nothing but all blockbusters, all the time.

Thanks, CVG.

Whatever…just as bad as Call of Duty: Black Ops which is a much worse game than Halo Reach…not to mention they both sold in the top 10 this year so I guess the protagonist doesn’t really matter much…not to mention I don’t remember great games like Dead Space and Half-Life having the most vocal colorful protagonists…

Halo does not have werewolves.

Therefore Halo does not have something for everyone.

You lie, O’Connor! D8<
