GoG’s announced it’s to include the original version of Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars as a bonus with the Director’s Cut.

Anyone who’s already bought the Director’s Cut will get it for free.

“Broken Sword is one of the best adventure games of all time,” said GoG’s marketing director, Guillaume Rambourg.

“After releasing the Director’s Cut, many of our old-school gamers expressed an interest in bringing back the original Broken Sword, so with Charles Cecil’s approval, we have dusted off the original and added it to the Director’s Cut at no cost to our users. It just shows that no matter how much of a makeover you give a product, the classics will never go out of style!”

The Director’s Cut is available to buy here for $5.99. Happy Friday, innit.

Never got around to playing this one, maybe I should give it a go, it’s supposed to be good…

Pretty good bonus, apparently some people consider it better than the remake. Nice to get both.

Being a GOG customer is a bit strange at times. On at least two occasions before this, I’ve logged on to GOG and been given free games because they’ve been added to products that I’ve already bought. And both times I would have actually bought the games I got for free, had they been released as individual products.
