Xbox and Sky join forces for Got to Dance contest

GottoDance

Sky and Xbox announced an exclusive sponsorship campaign today, which will for the first time see Kinect for Xbox 360’s latest dance game, Dance Central, feature in the second series of Sky 1’s.

Dance Central will be “fully integrated” across all live shows, with the studio audience being able to engage with the game through trials and viewers at home being “given the chance to win the very latest products”.

The sponsorship deal with Sky will see Kinect for Xbox 360 and Dance Central feature across multiple screens including TV, online and mobile across the UK and Ireland with 15 4Gb Xbox 360 consoles with Kinect given away during the series along with copies of the Dance Central.

Not only will the studio audience be given a chance of winning, but an online competition will give those watching at home the chance to enter as well.

This sounds like a good way to shift even more Kinects.

It sounds horrible, but its all part of the MS marketing plan. once the numbers are right, they’ll release all those cool kids the pc hackers have been working on & some quality core console games…*hopes*

Man… Harmonix must be rubbing their hands with glee. They pretty much fell on their feet with that one.

Dude, I can’t believe where ms is taking gaming. It was a time when gaming was admired for the things it could do and accomplish. Not what you can fabricate and how many devices you can move. Sigh* anything media wise has an agenda and a sigular agenda at that. Make something look good and sell it. Kinect is the hot model being photoshopped on the cover of a magazine. It only looks good

“It only looks good”

Tell that to everyone that played Dance Central / Kinect Sports over xmas at my mother’s house. Hell, if it wasn’t for GT5 I’d probably be playing it more than anything else right now.

Yeah, I won’t speak for everyone because I hear neutral things. Well sorta neutral, more negative. But for me this is a comparison I see to gaming now. Its just f’n terrible

Edit: kinects influence is like the gaming of usa channel cartoons when savage dragon, street fighter, and mortal kombat was on. At the time you couldn’t wait to see more or what happened on the last episode but when I got older and went back to it. I realised…. this was utter f*ckn sh*t
