Paradox to reveal seven unseen titles this month

Wednesday, 5th January 2011 00:26 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Swedish strategy-specialist publisher Paradox Interactive is on its way to New York for its annual convention, and is promising seven new reveals to liven the two day game-a-thon in late January.

The games to be revealed are so mysterious that Paradox haven’t even titled them, offering only a slew of code names: Project “Spring Break,” Project “Ice Man,” Project “Orange,” Project “Penny,” Project “Tatanka,” Project “Mayflower” and Project “Doom”.

As well as lifting the lid on upcoming titles, Paradox will showcase recent releases. The line up of playable releases includes Magicka, Cities in Motion, Pride of Nations, Magna Mundi, Sword of the Stars II, Supreme Ruler: Cold War and Dreamlords: Resurrection.

Headlined as the place to see “the future of PC gaming”, the Paradox Interactive Convention is an annual event on its second visit to New York. On January 20 and 21, the Hilton New York will play host to a party of developers, from old favourites Taleworlds Studios, Neocore Games and Nitro Games to newcomers to the Paradox fold including TurboTape Games, Seatribe, Radioactive Software and Colossal Order.

Thanks, Big Download!

I fucking love them. They are fantastic developer for the hardcore PC gamers. Latest Hearts Of Iron 3 was a masterpiece.

    These are upcoming titles:

Ship Simulator Extremes — PC (2010)
    Magicka — PC (360 also) (2010)
Sword of the Stars II: The Lords of Winter — PC (2011)
Pride of Nations — PC (2011)
    Magna Mundi — PC (2011)
Supreme Ruler Cold War — PC (2011)
    Crusader Kings 2 — PC (2012)
Darkest Hour (video game) — PC (2011)

Sadly that no one on VG247 is not familiar with their games.

Ummmm… I love Paradox Interactive games. Have for ages as a matter of fact. SotS:LoW is on my “must” list.

Games I own from these guys: Elven Legacy, Mount & Blade
    and King Aurthur.

    I also like 1C Company.

We regret to inform you that your application to the PC master race has been unsuccessful at this point in time. Your details will be kept on record for 6 months after which you may wish to reapply; please enclose a full inventory of your Steam purchases over the intervening period.

    Yours sincerely,

I really hope one of them is Hearts of Iron 4 or at least another expansion to HOI3

Knowing Paradox, some of those secret projects are probably downloadable expansions. But I’m expecting some cool things too, including a very interesting game from a new developer. SOTS 2, Magicka and Cities in Motion (which Ertzhaus forgot) look very cool too. And whatever TaleWorlds does next… well, I know I want it, whatever it is.

3: You’re ten years too late.
