Eidos Montreal confirms DLC plans for Deus Ex: Human Revolution

deus ex human revolution 2

Eidos Montreal’s David Anfossi has told VG247 the developer does have DLC plans for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which it calls an “extention” of the game.

Speaking with us in an interview at gamescom earlier this afternoon following the showing of a new level behind closed doors – the level being shown on the showfloor is the E3 demo – Anfossi, the game’s producer, told us work on it had just begun.

Oh, and in case you didn’t know, it’s all single-player, Ringo.

“So you’re right, no multiplayer, it’s a single-player experience,” he said.

“It’s very important for us to deliver a quailty game. And that fuels our energy.”

He went on to add: “And yes, we started to work on DLC. That will be an extention of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Me and [Jean-Francois] Dugas, the game director, we started to work on that.”

Just so you know, the game looked really, really awesome. Awesome.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution releases next year for PS3, 360 and PC.

Our full interview with David Anfossi will go live in due course.

Companies announcing DLC still irks me. I still can’t stand the concept, but announcing it well before a game is released?

“Here is content we’re not including in a game we’re charging you sixty dollars for. It’s being made. Likely well before the games release, even to be released alongside it. We’d just like you to be aware that we intend to nickel and dime you to death well ahead of time.”

Exactly, that ticks me off as well. The whole goddamn game ain’t even out by a long shot, and already anouncing DLC, who the hell really cares? Shit.

These days, announcing that a game will have DLC is like announcing that it will also have achievements/trophies.

Maybe an extra equipment DLC pack, make a bouquet of flowers come out of your elbow instead of a sword, that kind of stuff

@3 They didn’t “announce” it. They were asked a question about it, and answered.

Anyway, this doesn’t surprise me. I will or won’t buy it depending on the nature of the content and how significant to the game’s experience it is.
