Angry Birds coming to PS3 and handhelds

Sunday, 1st August 2010 10:57 GMT By Joe Anderson

Joe Wee, co-founder of Angry Birds developer Rovio, has said the popular iPhone game is coming to PS3, PSP and Nintendo DS.

“When it was released last December Angry Birds made a slow start but as word got round, everyone’s gone crazy for it,” Wee told The Sun.

“We are also releasing it on Nintendo DS, Sony PSP and PS3,” he added.

Angry Birds, which has so far sold over 2 million copies, is probably one of the most addictive games on Apple’s black wonder, where the aim of the game is to catapult your varying birds into the bad guys in order to destroy them.

Each species of bird can do something different, such as cut through wood, drop exploding eggs or split into three to give you a wider ranged attack.

It’s pretty mental, innit.

No date has been announced as yet.

@1: they’ll probably add MOVE support for the PS3 version.

I think move would work great with this game, although thinking about it, it may just be a mini, which would mean it would be built for PSP but also work on PS3.

If it is a mini it will be one of the best out there.

Is this a ripoff of Crush the Castle or is Crush the Castle a ripoff of Angry Birds?
