Jason West and Vince Zampella to speak at QuakeCon

quakecon10

Bethesda’s just revealed that ex-Infinity Ward bosses Jason West and Vince Zampella are to speak at QuakeCon this year.

Announced rather cryptically, Bethesda’s Pete Hines and Nick Breckon revealed the news via Facebook and Twitter, respectively.

This will be the first speaking engagement for the Respawn Entertainment founders since the massive Infinity Ward blow-up with Activision, and their sacking from the studio.

Maybe Respawn’s first game will be announced. Maybe. Patcher reckons it’s a space-shooter. Maybe.

QuakeCon 2010 takes place August 12-15 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas.

Hines went on to confirm Todd Howard, Harvey Smith, Emil Pagliarulo, Chris Rhinehart, Matt Carofano, John Carmack, Tim Willits and Richard Garriott as speakers for the event.

Sounds like it won’t be one to miss.

Wonder what they have planned.. better not be another conspiracy like what happened with ActiVision, that dominated the gaming news for an annoying month, i doubt it’ll be another modern warfcare styled game, not with MoH & Battlefield under the same publisher already, i could imagine maybe a space/future themed FPS

Fcaebook should bring some popular flash games to it, i’ve tried pllaying an text based game on there, quite frankly i have 0 imagination so it seemed pointless to me, but there’s quite literally millions of flash games & thousands of good ones to choose from which would make a much better choice than mafiawars & farmville & *yawns, just thinking of them tires me.
BTW, love that part about Patcher :P
he’s the kinda guy where if he saw an elephant in the room, he would say “there maybe an elephant in the room”

They’ve been using the Quake 3 engine for 10 years now, so it makes sense for them to talk there :P
