Activision confirms Bizarre’s James Bond: Blood Stone

bondbs

Had your Bond fill with GoldenEye at E3? M’s not done with you yet.

Activision’s finally confirmed the existence of Bizarre Creations’ James Bond: Blood Stone. First shots are below.

As rumoured earlier, the game is a mix of driving and action. It’s a third-person affair “on land and sea” that “will unravel an international conspiracy across exotic locales”.

“James Bond 007: Blood Stone captures the cinematic intensity of a Bond film by immersing players in an intriguing conspiracy that will require them to think and act like James Bond,” said Acti licensing boss, David Pokress.

“In addition, the game will feature a diverse array of multi-player modes and debut strategic objective-based gameplay that will allow Xbox 360, PS3 and PC players to battle as teams of spies and mercenaries through authentic Bond locales.”

“I thought Christmas only comes once a year”

The game features the likeness and voices of Daniel Craig, Joss Stone and Judi Dench and features an original story written by screenwriter Bruce Feirstein.

Promised gameplay includes cover-based firefights, “lethal hand-to-hand combat” and “adrenaline-fuelled driving sequences”.

Athens, Istanbul, Monaco and Bangkok all feature. Multiplayer for up to 16 is included.

Joss Stone is to provide an exclusive track called “I’ll Take it All” for the title, written and performed by her and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics.

Blood Stone video game is being developed by Bizarre Creations for 360, PS3 and PC. A DS version is being created by n-Space.

The news clarifies Gamepron‘s overnight discovery of a post on an unofficial Eurythmics fan-site, of all places, outing the game.

This was the title leaked by UK retailer HMV back in April. Activision confirmed it as far back as early last year.

There’s no date.

Activision is holding a Bond-related press event in London today – look at the lovely screens and watch the debut trailer below.

I am definetly interested in this game as I am a Bond geek, but I am very worried how the cancellation of the 23th film, because of MGM poor finances will reflect on future Bond games. I hope that some big company will buy the franchise.(if it is WB will be great)

I seen Quantum of Solace second-hand on 360 for about £4 in Game last weekend.

Don’t know why I didn’t pick it up, despite owning it on PS3 originally. It’s actually alright.

Then again, I re-bought PGR4.

I see a tedious connection here.

It looks like a racing game being forced to do character action bitts, wich the engine doesn’t do well.

The ‘stone’ bit of the title looks to be referring to their Daniel Craig character model’s range of facial expressions, judging from that video.

Sweet, I’m a bond fan. I’m not expecting UC2 level graphics but I need it to look above average with great gameplay (like UC2 or just a level or two below) and I’ll buy it day 1. If they don’t accomplish that I’ll wait until it’s discounted. I’ll keep a close eye on it.

Completely unrelated, but my missus told me the other day that the lion used on the MGM title screen is actually yawning, not roaring. The sound of the roar was added afterwards.

Anyway, game looks okay. I’ll wait for more gameplay footage before making any judgement.

If I ever play another cover-based shooter, I swear I’m gonna…. Honestly, what’s so great about spending most of a game hiding behind conveniently placed flower pots like a little bitch?

Making people sit still during a firefight just strikes me as the worst thing you could possibly do in an action game.

I really want a good bond game. People may have fond memories of Goldeneye on the N64, as do I. However, I also had a great time with Nightfire on the xbox. There were some brilliant multiplayer maps and I always used to have my mates around playing it.
