Square Enix has announced it’s releasing Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light for Nintendo DS in the west this fall.
The title, known as The Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden in Japan when it released there last October, sees main hero Brandt try to save the princess of Home, who’s been abducted by the Witch of the North . Along the way, he meets three other party members to help complete his quest.
The game will also have a storybook feel to it from the makers of Final Fantasy III and IV on DS, with Akihiko Yoshida of FF III DS and Final Fantasy XIII fame directing the title.
It’ll also feature DS Wireless Play, with up to four players teaming up to take on “challenging dungeons”, with any items collected in multiplayer also available to exchange for rare items, or for use in single-player.
