Reggie says Wii has moved 5M units, nabbed 1M Netflix users

NOA’s Reggie Fils-Aime has told CNBC that not only has Wii moved over five million units this year already, but that there’s almost one million Netflix users on the console.

He was not too coy about how proud the company was with this accomplishment either, as he said that the 5 million units garnered in the four-months of 2010 equaled “the entire amount that our competitors have sold over the previous 12 months.”

Youch.

Reggis also said that since launching Netflix in March, almost a million Wii owners have participated in the movie service.

NPD’s for April are out in a couple weeks, so we’ll get exact April numbers to add to the previous months soon.

Hopefully, folks that bought one last month won’t be wishing they held out for a black one.

“the entire amount that our competitors have sold over the previous 12 months.”

Does he mean the Playstation 2 and the XBOX? Cause otherwise I’m pretty sure that’s wrong.

And I wonder how many people have then sold those on.
