Starcraft II single-player blown to pieces – impressions round-up

Friday, 23rd April 2010 15:39 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Not much has been heard of Starcraft II’s single-player since last summer, when Pat went to Irvine, California to see it for himself. You can see how he got on back then here.

But Blizzard’s lifted the embargo for a recent dose of single-player goodness, with impressions so far indicating there’s been a bit of a change since last summer. Get everything rounded up after the break from the RTS’s first expansion Wings of Liberty.

There’s also some new gameplay footage and a newly re-done cut-scene from the game below, thanks to IGN. New shots are here.

Impressions below.

If you’ve got any links to add, do so below.

Starcraft II releases in the first half of this year for PC and Mac. The date for it is expected to be announced “in the coming weeks”.

Absolutely fucking amazing, except one thing:

This is Starcraft 1 in 3D and this is a bad thing. Maybe Koreans will be pleased, but i’m a gamer and they use old graphics and old engine system. Starcraft 2 models is a huge dissapointment, Starcraft 1 had beautiful sprite models.

It’s not like Warcraft 2 < Warcraft 3 changes and thats really sad that blizzard could not do something new with the franchise.

    Multiplayer will be amazing
Story will be just ridiculously strong for a videogame that will create a certain fanbase and a cult AGAIN.
    Balance – perfect
    Cut-scenes – perfect
    Graphics – decent
Gameplay – no changes, thats sad, but it’s an old Starcraft mechanic. I love it.

But even then, this is the best game not just this year, it is the best game in history, who disagree can go fuck himself deep in the ass and play shitty Halo 3 or something.
