DLC for Splinter Cell: Conviction to hit XBL on a weekly basis

splintercellconviction

Ubisoft has announced that DLC for Splinter Cell: Conviction will start arriving on a weekly basis for game, and best of all, you can get it for free.

Starting on April 15, a new gun called the MP7A1 Machine Pistol is to be made available via the game’s Extras menu, although some reports state that it’s already available.

Additional DLC is to hit every Thursday, according to Ubisoft, some of which include “new weapons, skins and even a new Deniable Ops map.”

Currently, you can get some Avatar items for the game over on XBL Marketplace.

No word yet on when larger paid content will be coming down the pipe, but the developers have said in the past that it’s a “great thing”.

The game’s out in the US now, and the UK gets it on Friday.

Thanks, Shack.

Even a new map!!

… Thats what we expect, not shitty skins.
I wasn’t too bothered about that EA 10quid thing but even that turned out rubbish especially that Mass effect dlc. No one has done anything worthwhile apart from Fallout and maybe borderlands. I wish they didn’t release rubbish all the time and instead put out proper expansion packs for dlc.

Just bought the game today and I’m so fuckin’ impressed. The story, the flashback feature during the story, the ability to mark opponents and take ‘em out automatically, the online coop, the possibility to upgrade weapons, etc. … just fantastic. I hope that Ubisoft will bring this game to PS3 one day, otherwize they would miss out on a whole lot of money and PS3 players would miss out on 1 fuckin’ great game.

JeRicHoOL you like Mark and Execute? Dont you think it takes away a portion of the traditional shooting enjoyment?

Withholding contents for money is too obvious, now they are withholding contents for good PR, makes you think you are getting extra.

…That only make me less likely to purchase it day one. I have a backlog and could wait until they rolled out all these items.

My copy arrived today. We’re going to be doing a big video and an interview on Friday as that’s when it’s out in the UK. Going to play it right now, in fact.

You can’t M&E all the time. Sometimes you are required to attack an enemy in close combat before you can execute. Distance also plays a role there and the most important factor is that this feature is an option. You can use it but you don’t have to.

I liked M&E stuff from the demo. Adds an extra puzzle element to the proceedings, who to take first, then lining up the M&E etc.
