Gears of War 3 – first four screens

Looking good, although at 1920×1080 I’ll be surprised if those are actual in-game shots. If Epic have managed 1080p on the 360 then I will be extremely impressed.

and if it is ingame shots (except NOT), then i see High End textures at the PC level that is impossible for the 360 GPU.

Or they hinted for a PC version? (Except not).

is anything possible on the 360? i swear there must be people who’ve probably considered getting one but have had it rammed down their throats most things cant be done on it without either some sort of quality decrease, content cut or the failure rate.

and they are stills from the trailer, just promotional material I expect gameplay stuff/presentation at E3.

I’m pretty confident that that is the actual gameplay engine.

If you go back and play Gears Of War 2, you’ll see that moving from cutscenes to gameplay is mostly seamless. So I expect the same thing with GoW 3.

Just look at the armors on the trailer. That’s not a “CGI” (it is, but generated from the gameplay engine)

@4, Well, you need to understand that 360 showing it’s age. Microsoft did right thing switching it to the motion controls like Natal.

PS3 is a lucky one here because of Blu Ray and Cell processor. Machine is capable of massive scale games. But we saw only 2 of them, so basically it’s still have time for new games.

but i’m tired of this. I want next generation PowerPC e700 multicore processors. Next generation will be multicore 64-bit and i can’t wait for this. I’m tired of old shit seriously.

@5 with the texture level of 8800 GTX or 9800 GT videocard, right? Seriously?

@6 Oh dont me wrong I’m not dissing PS3 by any means, great machine imo I just get a bit bored of reading how the 360 is knackered, it isnt and I still see games coming out for it that look great like Alan Wake for example. Couldnt agree more what you say about multicore processors, spot on.

Fuck Yea! I cannot wait for this game. I don’t care about the graphics topping UC2. I just want to enjoy this fucker to the max. It looks really serious man, I hope that trailer represents the theme of the game, desperation to survive.

There definitely from the trailer, but the trailer doesn’t look like CGI to me, it looks like it was created using the engine.

It is game engine but CGI hi res game engine video. The actual gameplay wont be the same quality as this video and to be honest im not impressed with the visuals at all.

The engine is less stressed when organized movement, camera, detail, particles, and gun fire are pre-planned and pre-rendered. so obviously its easier to push out better quality. When the Engine is being worked in a real-time game environment, it takes a beating. If this Cut Scene trailer is the best the Engine has to offer, i dont see it being that much of a difference in visual perfmormance than Gears of War 2. I have been playing Gears 2 lately and have noticed that it doesnt look all that great, epecially against today’s market. Doesnt remove the fact that the Gears franchise is some of the most fun to experience. So while im not axious to see the graphics of this game (knowing it will be gears 2.5), i am anxious to play the fucker and whoop some locust ass! I swear, if the humans lose in the end im gonna be seriously pissed! I really want this game now!!!!
