Fable III development to be “shut off” at Thanksgiving

fableIII6

Fable III’s development is to be “shut-off” at turkey o’clock, according to Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux.

Speaking with The Times during GDC, he said: “We are going to finish it in time so that the powers that be can make that decision [as to when it'll be out]. Thanksgiving is the shut-off date.”

He also hinted at a reinvention of Milo & Kate, which may or may not be announced at E3.

“We are at the moment making something whose title I can’t reveal, but you saw a glimpse of it at E3,” said Molyneux. “It is so different and new that trying to get a focus group to look at it and respond is almost impossible.”

He’s already said Milo is a “bigger role” for what’s to come. What that is unknown, but LA will hopefully give us the answer in June.

Fable III, meanwhile, is due this holiday.

It’ll be done a while before Thanksgiving, that’ll be around when it launches i’d imagine. If its out in Novemeber than that means development is gonna be finishing a couple months before than

Why nobody releases major games in December? The reason being?

Dunno i think they tend not to release games in December as if the game is a big game and theres a chance of running out of copies, they might not have time to ship any more to stores before Christmas, also maybe because alot of parents like to get their Christmas shopping early so if you release your game after all the Novemember big hitters sales may suffer.

I have worked at many retailers for the past 5 years and they all seem to get a huge shipment prior to December and then no shipments in December and what sells is whats there after December, they take inventory and see how they did for that entire season.
