Senior Creative Director at EALA, Rich Farrelly, has revealed that Medal of Honor won’t be compatible with PlayStation Move when it releases sometime this year.

Speaking with CVG, the dev said it was looked at, but the decision was made not to go for it.

We had a look at it, but we decided that it needed to have a meaningful application for us to use it – which it didn’t this time,” said Farrelly. “We rule out anything that risks feeling like a gimmick.”

Last night, Move was announced as the proper name for the PlayStation Motion Controller after long speculation. Get details on its reveal here.

Medal of Honor, meanwhile, had a preview blowout this morning, with a new set of screens also released. The game’s due out in Q2 FY2011, sometime between July-September this year.

No sale then. These modern combat games are becoming ten a penny, I seriously think Move compatibility would have pushed me into getting it.

I don’t see how Move compatibility would have been a gimmick either. It’s just another controller option for those who want it. Back to it being Medal of Meh then.
