Modern Warfare Two-fer: MW2 boasts 25 million unique players, DLC news coming this week
This looks to be a big week for Infinity Ward. In a good way, though! Unlike, you know, last week.
The ever-reliable Robert Bowling broke the news via Twitter.
“…annnd we JUST hit 25 MILLION unique players on Modern Warfare 2. Insanity! Also, got a lot of #MW2 DLC details coming this week! FINALLY!” he said.
In case you were curious, the 25 million figure includes consoles and PC. So said Bowling in a follow-up tweet.
“That’s 25 million unique across all platforms. Most on Xbox 360, then a close 2nd goes to PS3, with millions more on PC,” he explained.
At this rate, Jason West and Vince Zampella might want to put some serious consideration into just calling off this whole suit thing and asking each MW2 player for one dollar. Sure, they won’t drive away in Bobby Kotick’s Ferrari or take back the Modern Warfare license, but at least they’ll get something. We’re not entirely sure a tooth-and-nail tussle with Activision’s lawyers would yield the same result.

I can already read the news: “MW2 is delayed because we want to add some polish to it! Don’t worry people, it will come!!”
But of course, we all know it’s because of that recent Activision legal dispute.

i´m on the battlefield now. so i couldn´t care less…i´m one of those 25 millions that won´t count because i´ll probably wont come back any time soon…i was so B O R E D with mw2 after my first prestige and very disappointed with the game in general…it´s not a bad game but it´s also not that good…the maps in mw2 sucked. there were only 1 or 2 that were ok. the aisrstrikes were more annoying than ever etc…i think it´s about time for a change in the cod franchise.

imo this game doesn’t have a future without infinity ward. i’ll wait for the announce from jason west to open a new studio.

Polygem likes BC2 sooooooooo much, he can’t stop talking about MW2! LOL!!
It is indeed ironic that so many of these BF fanboys still don’t seem to be able to complete a sentence without mentioning MW2 even though they have their so called ‘best FPS ever’ to play with now…
Smacks of an inferiority complex.
