Crysis 2 scans from German magazine hit the net
Scans from the February issue of German magazine PC Games hit the net today, showing off Crysis 2.
Set in New York City, the game not boasts a new locale, but also a new Nano Suit with a tactical visor enabling the wearer to “scan the environment for enemies, weapon drops and information and to eavesdrop on enemy chatter”, reports WeAreTheInternez.
In the magazine, PC Games editor Christian Schütter chats about the Xbox 360 version of the game, which is also to be made available for PC and PS3 sometime this year.

I’d imagine most of it was optimisation of console code as well as PC code rather than anything new and interesting. Obviously DX11 stuff will be added and all the stuff in CE2 would have been upgraded to modern standards making it a lighter engine all round.
To be honest, it’s a great engine. Crysis might buckle PC’s but Aion Online run CE2 also and that looks amazing and runs like a dream.
The PS3/360 stuff they have shown looks pretty good as well. It’s clear whey the cuts in detail have been made but usage of Borderlands style depth of field effects would make it sort of moot to be honest.

Heh, that is actually damn impressive to be honest, Aion looks amazing and it’s running on 2004 tech. Not sure if that’s an achivement for CryTek or NCSoft.

It’s impossible for it to be the 360 version since the caption for the first screenshot says these were taken at a resolution of 3840 x 2130.

cant wait to here about physics/destructability. this is the biggest challenge for crysis in the city. everyone is going to expect maximum rubble with the crysis name to live up to.

@13 Mags dont take they’re own screenshots, they’re given a set by the dev, so they could have easily played the 360 version and been given PC screenshots to publish.
Otherwise, looks good obviously. But lets hope the gameplays been fixed up, the first one was all gfx and average everywhere else.
