The Wall Street Journal‘s claiming EA is teaming with Apple to show off games at the company’s heavily rumoured tablet reveal next week.

“Apple is… working with videogame publisher Electronic Arts Inc. to show off the tablet’s game capabilities, according to one person familiar with the matter,” said the US pub.

Apple is holding a US press event on January 27, widely believed to be the first look at its new tablet computer.

US games press have been invited to the shindig.

The invites said only that attendees would see Apple’s “latest creation”.

The tablet, which Apple apparently plans to ship in March, will have about a 10- to 11-inch touch screen.

Touch-screen Madden! We’ll all know soon enough.

This thing would be perfect for RTS games!

(i’m i sounding like a fanboy) to be honest, i bought a ipod touch a few months back for music, but since having one its useful for so much, its completely changed the way i access the internet, i barely ever turn on my laptop at home now.

the games…i’ve got like 20 paid for…hardly ever play them, but there are some quality puzzle/casual games, they’re starting to release megadrive games on it now and final fantasy 1 and 2, it turning into a proper little gaming device

I dont even care about it’s gaming properties personally . I’ve been trying many times multiple tablet pc in the hope of findind something comfortable for work related stuff , but also because well i read a lot of comics and manga scans .

Laptop are still too heavy and not always practical . Other tablet pc were light and expensive but slow and with the usual and crappy windows tablet os . And with a rather phony tactil response .

I can only dream of apple’s mac and iphone’s usual simplicity and efficiency . It will obviously cost , but eh tablet pc always costed too much anyway , at least it wouldnt suck anymore

This could be perfect for ebooks, comicbooks and general web browsing. not to sure about work, depends on what type of work…

i wonder if it’ll be compatible with a stylus pen tool for photoshop, that would be amazing!

Yep i sometimes got stuff to draw on the fly and the old graphic pad+laptop combo are well cumbersome .

But my huge draw are personal entertainement to be honest . I do not mind at all sitting in front of my desktop big screen to read comics … however with laptop on couch or bed or outside ,it seems , i dunno uncomfortable .

They are still to heavy to keep holding it like a book , and i really dont like using it dropped on a bed/sofa , andlaying down in front of it to read .
It might seems childish but that’s probably why many wouldnt care about digital comics . For it to truly gain steams it needs a physical media light and fit like a magazine .

Anyway i just hope the islate will come in multiple sizes . My ideal one would have the same size frame than actual comics cover , and if available that’s the one i’ll be getting .
