13m might be a bit too optimistic, if they get over 11m that could be considered a good year. Though after a slow start the PS3 is gaining some momentum, I wonder if Sony are wishing they had a price cut earlier.

“Hmm so whats sold 27m Ps3s if it doesnt have any big games?
Brand loyalty people something Microsoft cant buy thats whats done it”

OG:
“It hasn’t had that yet. Instead it has a small libary of unique quality titles, a free PSN service(for now), bluray(which have not had the impact that sony was hoping), and brandname. I think Millions of gamers are still waiting for the one truely amazing thing you can only get on a PS3.”

Did you read what I wrote beyond interpiting it as an attack on the PS3? I told you why I felt it has done as well as it has, and I had stated Brandname as one reason.

Tea:
“Killzone2 is just awesome. Plain and simple.
UC2 kills Gears of war.Plain and simple.
Halo is just Gay…now. Plain and simple”

Ok, lol, just don’t call me the fanboy ;)

Hindle:
“Of course there is such a thing as brand loyalty i mean oldergamer says the Ps3 doesnt have any system sellers so what else has sold the Ps3 to people if it isnt brand loyalty if it doesnt have the games.”
Again, READ the post, dont breeze through seeing only what you want to see.
Hindle:
“I bought one because Playstation is the only thing i played during my childhood and Sony have never let me down.”
Too bad you missed out on a lot of great games. Great games can come from all types of systems. I wouldn’t limit myself to just one, unless I had to due to cash flow issues. The Dreamcast was home to some amazing games, so was the Sega Saturn for that matter. Mechassult on xboxone on LIVE was pretty close to a religous experience for me. If you passed over the N64, you missed out on Zelda and Golden Eye. You understand of course that playing and enjoying games on one systems doesn’t somehow make games on another system less fun or less worthy to play? It just means you have more options and won’t miss out on triple A games.

Tea:
“Games like Heavenly Sword, WipeOut HD, Warhawk, Uncharted, Siren, Buzz, Singstar, GT5P, Killzone 2, infamous, Ratchet, Motor Storm, and Demon Souls have nothing to do with PS3’s success despite it being the higher cost system for 3 years.”
Some good games in there. I own a couple of them. Again, not a fanboy. Yet, I can say somewhat confidently that the bulk of those game did not drive systems sales. There is no sales spike regaurding the release of GT5p or Warhawk. Unchartedone didn’t sell well at all. The KZ series only took flack for not being the Halo killer many folks thought it was going to be. It is what it is, the PS3 has been in large the third place system. It is in a unique place. The west seems to ignore it as a prime platform, chosing only to bring often poorly done ports, the east seems preoccupied with handhelds. Beyond the first party stuff the PS3 libary is lacking. Again left with all too often ports of multiplatform games. Do I sound like a raving fanboy? I bet to you guys I do. But I am not. I just see it the way I see it. I own a PS3, I like my PS3. But a spade is a spade. The PS3 has picked up, alot in sales. And I can easily see a day when the system will pull even and maybe even surpass the xb360. But I see that being a bigger thing by region. The PS3 should dominate in UK/Euro. The xb360 will most likly do the same in the states. Also look at software sales not just hardware sales. look at all chart sales. When the PS3 exclusives out sell the xb360 exclusives, or the PS3 versions of multiplatform games out sell their xb360 counter parts, then the PS3 will truly have arrived. I think we are still a year or more away from that. And ask yourself, what will MS do to counter strong sales from PS3 like that? Price drop? New hardware? Can Sony match that? Can the PS3 be priced at 150usd? I think the xb360 can be. Sony claims ten year lifecycle, great, but does that mean it will be competting with xbox next? And, more importantly, can it?
I think there is alot more to talk about on this subject. I also figure you two have either tunned me out, stopped reading, or have already switched into attack the fanboy/xbot mode and aren’t looking to talk as much spew.
Let me finish with a couple of questions: How does knowing that a system is not perfect = fanboy? Why does it matter? Why can’t a gamer enjoy games on more then one system? I know tea plays on live too. Just like I play on PSN. btw I am going to go play more addhoc PSU. Peace.
