MOD-ern Warfare: Hackers bring dedicated servers back to MW2
Or at least, something that looks, smells, and tastes like dedicated servers. An intrepid group of hackers has sauntered right past Infinity Ward’s supposedly hacker-proof IWNet system and activated Modern Warfare 2′s PC dev console. The result? Take a look:
“Thanks to AgentGOD and his great work bringing the developer console back into the PC version, a whole new wave of servers are possible with vast amounts of customisation. Things such as unlimited ammo, massive experience points (10000xp for a single kill), Field of View tweaks, speed and gravity adjustments and so much more,” reads the Youtube video’s description.
“The best bit is, this is all ranked and on IWNet! I guess the game is no longer balanced to fuck the PC gamers over!”

Soooooo, Pirates provide a service the industry is not willing to once again.
Until the industry wakes up to their own failings it’ll never go away. You can’t cover it up with IWnets and hope people will meekly lap up the bones you throw them.
It’s a sad result of corporatism (business acting in its own interest rather than that of the people/customers), a diabolical corruption of the free market ideology. I’m no big fan of pure capitalism, but I’ll take it over corporatism any day

who ever said they are pirates. the pc coumunity is made of guys who are not your average joe.
there is hackers and then their is modders. Like I said before if a real pc gamer wanted game a certen way we will change it.
It’s also the very reson pc gaming will always have the best games with game devs or with out them.

Well I guess they guys at Infinity Ward have come to a fork for what to do with MW3 for pc. Either allow what the pc players want or don’t make a pc version.

This totally destroys any value in the leaderboards and rankings. 100000xp per kill .. a fully ranked guy with all equipment in 10 minutes.. YEAH that’s balanced and fair.

Then bitch at Infinity Ward and Activision for denying people a pretty basic service like private matches and dedicated access with their own servers. They’re getting what they deserve.

hey latency is fine. played more than 10 mp games with british ppl today (i’m from eastern europe) and i only had to leave one of them because of rubber banding. so latency is not a problem of the current system imo. also, i like it that it finds games quickly if u just want to go for a short one when your friends r offline.
