Rumor: Facebook integration, more coming to PS3 [Update]

I just hope they fix all the mistakes they’ve made in FW3.0 screw facebook if this is real.

John Koller was quoted in a March interview as saying that Facebook and Twitter integration was coming to PS3. He also mentioned in-game functionality.

Andrew House was quoted as saying a while back after GamesCom that Facebook on PS3 could happen.

Anyways, I’d like to see it happening.

theoretically, yes, but I take a well developed native app over a half-baked browser any. fucking. day.

Syrok, given that the Facebook logo is under Account Settings it’s possible Sony are aiming for something a bit more integrated. So yes, you could load it up in the browser, but the implication is that your PS3 might notify you when you receive new messages or the like whilst you’re playing a game, or perhaps automatically feed updates to your account based on what you’re playing.

Personally I don’t use Facebook so I guess I’ll just keep my fingers crossed for background Trophy syncing.

Yes Koller and House pretty much said it was coming, however, not as soon as the next update as this rumor implied, so while not a shock per say, still rumored for the next update.

However, since they were taken straight from the UK PS site, I will update the post now to no longer say rumor, but just “no date” as of yet.

Why Sony dont make Psn exactly like Xbox live i dont know, would be good if they did.
