Sony to make Euro PS3 Movie Store announce at GamesCom
Here we go! SCEE’s just confirmed it’s going to finally put some details down on the European PS3 Video Store in Cologne next week.
Said PS Store manager Angela Madronero in the comments thread of this FAQ: “We will be making an official announcement regarding our forthcoming Video Store, next week, at GamesCom!”
Sony said at Games Convention in Laipzig last year that the European version of the US Movie Store would launch this year: we’ve heard nothing since.
“At Games Convention in August last year, we announced that we had a long-term plan to launch a video on demand service for some countries in the SCEE region,” Madronero added.
“This is still our plan, and as soon as we have all the details locked down, one of my colleagues who is working on the programme will give you an update on when and what will be available.”
Bring it! Fucking bring it! Over-pump to the 40,000 percent max! There’s no way we’re going to get through any of this without having some sort of collective heart problem.

It’ll be interesting to see if the PS2 Store rumour is true now, apparently all Firmware 3.0 will bring is BC just for the store.

About time we got some news about the EU Movie store too, I hope it rolls out into a good few EU countries though, and not just UK, France and Germany.

Even though the XMB is fine at the moment it wouldnt hurt to have a few different designs to choose for the XMB and i dont mean themes lol

I don’t want super exclusive games…I just want a release date for GT5 goddammit.
Btw, has Pat’s hype jumped by a factor of 10? I’m sure at first it said 4000%, but now it’s 40,000%…

Hope Spain is included. By the way, does anyone know if this service in the US offers subtitles, and for foreign movies with a dub version, it includes both? It’s just that usually movies are released in Spain theaters in Spanish only, I would like it to include the original version too, so maybe US offer could clear something about that matter.

Spain is pretty massive in terms of PS3 install base, so I’d say you’re going to be very safe in hoping for that.
It’s only going to be some (the majority of) Central European countries that miss out, I am guessing.

Blerk, the XMB may be going anywhere but that doesn’t mean they cannot add different UIs for when you select something on it, or have interactive background features.
