Mad Catz: “Well under 50″ complaints about sticky SFIV sticks

Following reports of complaints about Mad Catz’s Street Fighter IV FightSticks getting stuck thanks to lose washers, the peripherals firm has said it’s had less than 50 complaints about the issue.
The issue “does NOT happen on each Arcade FightStick and has been reported on a small number of units,” said Alex Verrey, Mad Catz PR boss.
Verrey told 1UP that complaints on the matter were “well under 50,” and that the issue had “blown out of proportion.”
Glad that’s sorted out. Thanks, Joystiq.

People complain to manufacturers these days? How quaint… I thought that’s what internet forums were for (where you’ll find many, many more than 50 complaints).

What he said.
This is just Mad Catz trying to cover their back about a shoddy product.

It’s annoying… because I want one (two actually). The guy says it doesn’t happen on all units, but from what I’ve seen of the posts on how to repair it – all units do have the washer that’s too small.

Sad thing is this is true. They *do* make some decent products.
The more expensive, high production arcade stick is probably one of the best around. It’s this version, the cheaper model, that’s shoddy.
