Xbox 360 gets a fireplace
XNA user SniperED007 has created a fireplace for Xbox 360 costing 400 Microsoft Points.
It features “realistic smoldering embers and flickering flames,” and apparently creates “the perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening.” Quite.
You can download a demo if you want to try before you buy. Shacknews even has a video of it in action.
This is the future, right here.

Rather over-priced, that.

The NXE snow storm is a) free and b) a bazillion times better than this.

I think I’d be quite alarmed to see my TV apparently on fire.

I remember when settop boxes first arrived and they had a fireplace channel. I don’t know why anyone expects any money for something like this but there you go.

Don’t 360s catch fire on their own anyway? For free?

Depends how long you leave the towel on for.

Don’t you get it? The Xbox 360 was built for this thing. The heat emanating from the console is meant to simulate the warmth of a fire. This is, for all intents and purposes, the Xbox 360′s killer app.

That reminds me of those HD screens sold in Japan as virtual Aquariums when Plasma TV’s first appeared about 10 yrs ago.
42′ virtual aquarium, yours for a snip under £12,000.

Why? They were stupid enough to buy it even though there’s a demo.

I’d love to see the sales figures for this, it’d have to be the lowest demo to full “game” conversion in Xbox Marketplace history.

I’d wager that “In the Pit” has a lower conversion ratio.

this beats ps3′s outer space music visualizer by miles man. the graphics are so real looking they’re better than killzone2. MS has won 2009 before it even started damn!
