NXE: Avatar theme packs confirmed for next six months

Speaking to VG247, Xbox Live product unit manager Jerry Johnson has confirmed that Avatar clothing will be constantly streaming onto the New Xbox Experience for the next half a year.

“We’re going to be continually releasing and unlocking clothes for the next six months,” he said. “They’ll be coming out in theme packs.”

There’s no word right now on whether or not you’re going to have to pay for this stuff, but don’t be hugely shocked if you will.

NXE is now live! Go get it!

No, I’m sure it’ll all be free.

I think some of the new clothes were briefly available for NXE previewers. There was a small star icon in the avatar editor indicating that new clothes are available, and they didn’t require any downloading or buying. I hope that’s the way it stays, at least until they launch the actual avatar store and start selling “real” clothes (Nike shoes or someting). There were for example T-shirts for every country Xbox Live is available in. Microsoft can’t possibly think selling theme packs like that, can they? I mean, what do you do with a pack that has only one item interesting to you.

You can see my shirt here: :)
