80Gb PS3 confirmed for Europe, says French site

GI was right it seems: according to Jeux Video the 80Gb is a definite for Europe and will cost the same as the current 40Gb.

Best news of all, though, is that the new SKU will apparently come bundled with the DualShock 3 controller. It doesn’t look as though backwards compatibility has made the cut, however.

Will be nice to get official confirmation… but with the exception of the BC that’s good news. :)

Nice. Any hint of a date yet, or how much Sony will be discounting the 40GB in the wake of this news?

The dualshock is a bit overrated. In most of the PS3 games that support it (and I have tried) the rumble is extremly weak Infact holding hands with that white girl in ICO results in a stronger rumble then driving with 200kmh against a wall in GRID.

When’s the SCEE conference, then?

I’ll be honest… it’s mostly the principal of the thing for me. Plus the sixaxis feels like the most flimsy little plasticky thing.
