Videogamer.com announces week-long Haze takeover

UK site Videogamer.com’s being taken over by Haze, the site’s confirmed, for this entire week. Further activity for the game will carry on for another couple of week after that as well, we’re reliably informed. Take a look at the Haze “Launch Zone” here.

“We’re committed to offering game publishers new and unique opportunities to market their products online in ways that really capture the audience, in addition to our foundation offerings,” said Pro-G Media’s Adam McCann. “Media first campaigns such as this Launch Zone are prime examples of how this can be done.”

Matthew Waghorn, senior planner at Maxus, said, “Audience engagement is a fundamental of any plan, and to do so with gamers on their own turf is notoriously difficult. We found working with VideoGamer.com not only allowed us access to a great gamer community, but enabled us to implement in a unique and genuinely engaging way.”

We asked for VideoGamer.com’s traffic, and were told to expect and ABCe audit from the site later this year.

I think ‘audience engagement’ in video games works best in good … you know… games.

He’s talking about “audience engagement” in the ad campaign there, innit.

That CVG thing’s not so much a takeover as an “analisation”. My eyes hurt.
