In this Pokemon Let's Go Squirtle guide, we'll be walking you through how to get Squirtle in Pokemon Let's Go, as he's definitely one of the best creatures in the early goings of the game.

How to Get a Squirtle in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee

As we all know, Squirtle is the best starter Pokemon (sorry not sorry). So obviously, you’re going to want to know how to track down this traditional starter Pokemon as quickly as possible in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, since you only start out this game with either Pikachu or Eevee, depending on which version of the game you purchased.

But why go to the trouble of getting Squirtle in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee? Simply put, Squirtle can evolve into Blastoise, one of the best Water-type Pokemon in the entire game, if you can level up the creature enough. There's unfortunately no sunglasses Squirtle Squad in this game, but he's still one of the cutest creatures around.

When you first get to Cerulian City, there’ll be a guard at a nearby house, warning you that they need to guard the front door at all times. When you’ve left and returned to the city, the guard will run off after a Squirtle that appears nearby, leaving you free to proceed into the house, and continue the main story of Pokemon Let’s Go.

It’s in Vermilion City that you’ll next see the guard, only this time they’re stood right next to the Squirtle, looking to give the Pokemon away to any eager trainers. Approach the guard, and she’ll tell you that she’ll give you the Squirtle, but only if you can manage to capture 60 unique Pokemon.

Note that in order to accomplish this challenge, duplicate Pokemon aren’t counted towards the total of 60. Unfortunately, you’re going to need to venture far and wide to see and catch 60 unique Pokemon, so you can return to the guard in Vermilion City, and claim the Squirtle for yourself, netting you one of the best Pokemon in the game.
