EA, ESA, Institute of Play creating educational games via new non-profit GLASS Lab

EA, the ESA, and Institute of Play have joined forces to create GLASS Lab, a non-profit studio, which will create educational games for students. Funding for GLASS Lab in the sum of $10.3 million in grants, was awarded directly to the incentive from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. The funding will allow GLASS Lab create new titles, and modify existing ones to help children learn skills which local and state school districts deem critical. Students will learn spatial reasoning skills, systems thinking, and other special skills which will help them prepare for college and, subsequently, a better career. GLASS Lab plans to make the titles available to students and schools for little or no cost. Thanks, Gamasutra.
