Crytek has "been investigating" Flash for CryEngine

Carl Jones, director of global business development for CryEngine, has the firm is looking to implement Flash support in the tech and is planning a "truly cross-platform solution" announcement in the foreseeable future.

Speaking with Edge, Jones said Crytek has been considering adding Flash for quite some time, a move Epic announced earlier this week for its Unreal Engine 3.

"It is an interesting approach we’ve been investigating as well," he said. "We're developing a unifying technology to create high quality social and gaming experiences on all platforms including browser, smartphones, tablets, etc.

"We hope to be able to tell you more about it soon when we present our truly cross-platform solution."

Crytek is working on a free-to-play, multiplayer PC shooter for Asian and Korean markets called Warface. While not browser-based, integrating Flash would make it easier to monetize a F2P title, especially in markets such as these, which are saturated with F2P browser-based games.
