Axe of the Blood God: Atlus Dives Deeper Than Ever Into the Persona Well

PODCAST | Plus thoughts on the Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Beta!

This article first appeared on USgamer, a partner publication of VG247. Some content, such as this article, has been migrated to VG247 for posterity after USgamer's closure - but it has not been edited or further vetted by the VG247 team.

Axe of the Blood God is our weekly RPG podcast hosted by Kat Bailey and Nadia Oxford. You can find the previous episodes here.

In this week's episode of Axe of the Blood God (download link here), we wonder how much is too much when it comes to Persona spinoffs. Then we talk about the everlasting love between John Cena and the mysterious stranger in the Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Beta.

Obviously, I'm not surprised that Atlus is putting out still more Persona spinoffs, including not one but two rhythm games. They've all been well-reviewed and have sold relatively well. But at some point an endless tidal wave of merch and spinoffs starts to cheapen the original product. That's partly what today's discussion is about.

Also in this episode: The Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Beta! ... Yay.
