According to a new NPD survey, the average US gamer has a collection of 48 games, 11 percent of which haven't been opened, Gamasutra reports.

The NPD study polled 562 gamers who have purchased a video game in the past six months.

Just goes to show. Other results from the survey show that 54 percent of those questioned trade or sell games when they're finished with them, 24 percent give them away, 17 percent store them, and 2 percent throw away or recycle the disc.

Thanks, 1UP.
