AMY publisher seeks to Kickstart Taxi Journey
French publisher Lexis Numérique has turned to Kickstarter to fund Taxi Journey, a side-scroller which it describes as inspired by indie adventures Limbo and Machinarium.
The Kickstarter campaign describes the game as a puzzle adventure with a "very unique universe and original gameplay features". The publisher has thrown its heart into Taxi Journey's setting and plot, commenting that "what is important is that you're going to have emotions and care for Gino and Zoey".
The platformer will not focus on manual dexterity, except in some secondary quests, instead focusing on puzzle elements, helped along by out heroes' special skills. Gino can grab items by their reflections, and Zoey can catch immaterial things like electricity or sounds and reuse them later.
The French company has raised $100,000 via distribution partners and requires $130,000 to develop the PC and Wii U version, and has provided a breakdown of how the money will be spent. Ports for Android tablets, iPads, Linux, Mac, PlayStation Network, Vita and Xbox Live Arcade are planned. Check out the pitch below and visit the Kickstarter page to check out available rewards.
Lexis Numérique is, unfortunately, best known for horror adventure AMY, which went down badly with fans and critics alike, but it's also behind the Red Johnson Chronicles series, Learning With The PooYoos, and the Imagine series.
