2K dissolves relationship with Redner PR over DNF blacklisting threats

2K Games has stopped using PR firm The Redner Group after its founder Jim Redner threatened to blacklist journalists and outlets that gave Duke Nukem Forever a "venom- filled" review.

Overnight, Redner tweeted and then removed the following tweets:

"Too many went too far with their reviews."

"We are reviewing who gets games next time and who doesn't based on today's venom. Bad scores are fine."

"Venom filled reviews that's completely different."

Later, Redner apologized publicly and privately through emails and direct Twitter messages claiming he "acted out of pure emotion" and that his opinions were not those of 2K Games.

2K Games has since tweeted, and confirmed to various outlets, that it has indeed cut ties with the PR Agency it has used for years.

"2K Games does not endorse or condone the comments made by @TheRednerGroup and confirm they no longer represent our products," reads the official Twitter feed for 2K. "We maintain a mutually respectful relationship with the press and will continue to do so.

"We don't condone @TheRednerGroup's actions at all."
