Souls-like sci-fi RPG Hellpoint is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S

Hellpoint, the Souls-like sci-fi RPG developed by Cradle Games, is coming to next-gen.

Launched on Kickstarter in 2017, and released on PC and current-gen earlier this year, the game is set to come to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2021.

The enhanced version will include support for higher framerates and resolutions, faster loading times, and a choice of two visual modes: performance mode with Dynamic 4K at 60FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X, and quality mode with Native 4K at 30 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

If you want to play the game on next-gen before its release, the current game will be backward compatible on both consoles. The studio says Hellpoint will run better on the new consoles when they launch, and a new unlock framerate option will be added with a patch.

For existing and future owners of PS4 and Xbox One versions, the upgrade to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will be free.

Inspired by games such as Dark Souls and Dead Space and movies like Event Horizon and Hellraiser, the tinyBuild-published title features a dark, sci-fi atmosphere set on a derelict space station called Irid Novo - which is orbiting a black hole. In it, you are faced with the aftermath of a quantum cataclysm called the Merge. What happens next is entirely up to you.

The game features co-op with both split-screen and online support.
