The latest update to the Epic Games Store has streamlined the storefront, and wishlists and critic reviews updates are in the works.

Epic Games Store users will now be able to see which games are trending, filter by genre, and more. The store has also been optimized to make it easier to use when traffic is high.

According to Epic, free game releases have driven a lot of traffic to the site. When high traffic occurred the infrastructure become bogged

To combat the issue, local caching and reduced queries to remote data stores were implemented.

3D Secure was added for European customers, and the site now supports Thai language.

In the coming months, you can expect wishlists to be added. This means you will also be notified if something on your list goes on sale.

The team is also working on an updated Library Grid view and is working with OpenCritic to bring critic reviews to game detail pages.

Be sure to fire up your launcher in order to apply the latest update.
