It’s that day when a ground-dwelling rodent predicts how many weeks of winter we have left. Let’s celebrate it by learning about a VR game called Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son.
Developed by Tequila Works, Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son based is a VR game described as a follow-up Bill Murray’s classic film, Groundhog Day.
The VR game is co-produced by MWM Immersive, a division of MWM that makes AR and VR experiences. The company is also behind Chained: A Victorian Nightmare and Jon Favreau’s Gnomes & Goblins.
It features over eight hours of puzzles with branching narrative gameplay. Like Murray in the film, you’ll be tasked with breaking the time-loop cycle to escape into tomorrow.
As Phil Connors Jr., you grew up in your father’s shadow and are trapped in the small town of Punxsutawney. You are forced with repeating the day over and over until you learn the “true value of friends and family.”
Looks quite fun.
Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son releases later this year on PlayStation VR, Vive, and Oculus.
