Dr. Mario World will launch for iOS and Android this summer.

South Korean developer, publisher, and distributor, NHN Entertainment, has partnered with Nintendo to create the title, that’s due for a global release this summer.

The game will be free-to-play but will feature in-app purchases, much like Nintendo’s other mobile titles, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, Fire Emblem Heroes, and Dragalia Lost.

Nintendo of America tweeted the news earlier today.

Dr. Mario World will be available in 60 countries, and in multiple languages, including Japanese and English.

The press release indicates that Japan and the US will be amongst the regions at launch, so it’s likely that the game will have a staggered release.

An “early summer” launch is the closest we have to a confirmed release date right now, putting it in the same window as Mario Kart Tour.

The mobile racing game was pushed back earlier this week, with Nintendo saying that it needs more time for polish, and to prepare post-launch content.
