Dark Souls 3's Curse-Rotted Greatwood boss doesn't much care for plunging attacks

The Curse-Rotted Greatwood, one of the early optional bosses in Dark Souls 3, does a very cool thing during the fight. Minor spoilers to follow.

If you played or watched this fight, you'll recognise the part when the tree destroys the ground beneath you and takes you down with it into a pit. What you may not know, however, is that you can avoid this by running all the way to the fog door, if you time it right.

YouTube user Zozmah successfully pulls this off in his attempt to test whether or not you can perform a plunging attack on the boss. Unfortunately, as you're about to see, the results are disappointing.
